James (Jimmy) Martin Linnehan, aged 71, of Braintree, MA, formerly of Milton, MA, passed away on April 5, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. William F. Linnehan, III, of Hingham, MA, and Ms. Katherine B. Linnehan, of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Milton, MA. Jimmy is survived by his son, Seamus Villard Linnehan, of Quincy, MA; and his siblings William F. Linnehan, IV, and wife Joan, of Virginia Beach, VA; Garrett B. Linnehan, Sr., of Hyannis, MA; Ellen Roberson, of Virginia Beach, VA; and Holly Reagan and husband Ron Reagan, of Crozet, VA; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was born in Boston, MA, grew up in Milton, MA, graduated from Milton High School, and attended Boston University, where he majored in sports sciences. Jimmy was a talented athlete and participated in hockey, basketball, and football; to include playing football at Boston University and for many years with the Boston club football league’s Hyde Park Cowboys and Randolph Oilers. Jimmy was an avid sports fan and followed all Boston sports teams throughout his life.
Jimmy possessed a great sense of humor and a natural charisma that drew others to him. He was loyal, forthright, and loved his family. Jimmy had many friends throughout his life and will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA. Burial immediately following services at 12:30pm at Milton Cemetery, Milton.
