Welcome to the memorial page for

Gloria (Davidson) McAuliffe

February 22, 1939 ~ June 21, 2013 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Gloria McAuliffe of Kingston and Duxbury, died peacefully Friday, June 21, 2013. She was 74 years old.  Gloria was born in Brockton, spent her childhood in Plymouth but for most of her life was a resident of Duxbury.  She worked at the former Curtis Compact in Hall’s Corner and had her own cleaning business for years.  Her favorite occupation, though, was the time she spent as a bus driver for the Duxbury public schools.  She loved her “kids” and was known as Mrs. Mac to everyone, young and old, on her bus route.  Gloria loved to laugh; she enjoyed reading, spending time gardening, working on crossword puzzles and was a huge fan of both the Red Sox and Patriots.  Always a sports fan, she was a member of the Duxbury Boosters when her own children were in school.  She loved the ocean and Duxbury Beach was one of her favorite spots.

Gloria is survived by her son Keith McAuliffe and his wife Grace of Quincy, MA, her son Kevin McAuliffe and his wife Valerie of Oklahoma City, OK and her daughter Cindy McAuliffe of Marshfield.  Gloria was also a proud grandmother to Sheena Duval of Quincy, MA and Samantha Ainsworth of Oklahoma City, OK.  Auntie Glo is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A special thank you from her family to the folks at Hancock Park in Quincy, MA for their compassion and love in taking such wonderful care of Gloria.

A memorial service will be held at a later date this fall.

In lieu of flowers and cards, her family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (http://curealz.org/) in Wellesley Hills, MA.
