Kenneth D. Rowell

Kenneth D. Rowell, of Abington, died on November 1, 2016 at the age of 68 after a brief illness.  Ken served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He continued his career in automotive mechanics after discharging from the Army.  Ken enjoyed racing cars, boating, watching movies, and spending time with his friends at the Old Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester where he was a member.  

Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late David F. Rowell and is survived by his mother Alice Murphy of Braintree.  Ken is survived by his two sons, David Rowell of Holbrook, Glenn Rowell and his wife Keri of Whitman, his two daughters Leslie Librera (Rowell) and her husband Joseph of Bridgewater, and Kirsten Rowell of Weymouth; eight grandchildren, his brother Mark Rowell and wife Karen of Pembroke, his sister Nancy Rowell of Braintree and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Janice Barker (Rowell).

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday November 9th from 6-8 p.m. at the Lydon Funeral Home, 644 Hancock Street, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
