Percy Charles

March 19, 1935 ~ August 1, 2016 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Percy Charles was born on March 19, 1935 in Princess Town, Trinidad, WI. He was one of four children born to the union of Ennis Smalls and Conrad Charles.

Percy was educated in Trinidad, and received and practiced his religious education there as well. As a young man, Percy began to travel and experience the world. He spent two years in London, England before spending time in Miami, Florida. His next destination was Toronto, Canada for a time, but it was in 1972 in Boston, Massachusetts, where he decided to make his home.

It was in Boston where Percy met the love of his life, Ms. Sarah Lloyd. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1977 and from that union, three children were born. Percy loved his children unconditionally. There was nothing that he would not do for them. Whatever they wanted, he went out of his was to give it to them.

Percy was a hard worker, often holding down two jobs at once, ie Boston City Hospital and Allied Maintenance at the Prudential Center. When not working, he loved ballroom dancing, swimming, and sailing. A lover of music, Percy often spent his time spinning music for entertainment. Calypso music was his favorite and he considered himself a calypsonian.

Percy was very active in life until his illness confined him to the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Jamaica Plain. God call Percy home to his eternal resting place on August 1, 2016, leaving behind to cherish his memory; Wife, Sarah; Children, Andre, Kelvin, Karmen, Wendy Faye, Dale, Damian, and Keith; Grandchildren, Fayleen, Enesa, Jason, Josiah, Kernisha, Faith, Elysha, Roberto and Keshea; Sister, Ollie; Loving Sisters-in-Law, Bernie Brown and Linda Lloyd; a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Percy was preceded in death by a son, Keith, sister, Carmen and his brother.
