Demir Shtino

Demir Shtino, aged 99, peacefully passed away on March 11th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 14, 1924, in Gijrokaster, Albania, to Reshat and Rebo Shtino, he was a cherished brother to Lumturi, Gjylso, Xheno, Aferdita, and Nazim.

Demir was the devoted husband of Nezaqet Shtino, sharing 61 years of marriage together. Their union blessed them with two wonderful children, Arian and Afrim Shtino. A loving grandfather, Demir held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren Annie, Clyde, and Alexandre.

Demir Shtino's journey began in Gijrokaster, Albania, where he spent his formative years. Later on, he pursued his education in Agriculture in Sofia, Bulgaria. Demir dedicated most of his life to living and working in Tirana, Albania, with his family. After retiring in 1990, he made the journey to the USA, settling with his wife to support his son Arian and contribute to the upbringing of his beloved grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Demir found joy in gardening, reading, long walks with his wife, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his grandchildren. His life was a tapestry woven with love, happiness, and familial pride. Demir will be remembered for his kindness, humor, captivating life stories, and his infectious, charming smile.

Though he may no longer be with us, his memory will forever live on in our hearts. Until we meet again, Gjyshi Demir.
