Elaine M (Lanie) Pendergast

Elaine (Lanie) M. Pendergast, aged 67 of Weymouth, MA, passed away on April 7, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents John Edward Pendergast and Patricia (Powers) Pendergast both of Weymouth and her brother, Edward Pendergast of Quincy. Lanie is survived by her siblings: Nancy Cameron and her husband Bob of Weymouth, Donald Pendergast and Margaret Waugh of No Myrtle Beach, SC; Alan Pendergast of Fayetteville, NC; and Janet Rose and her husband Paul Rose of Weymouth, MA. Elaine is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephew: Tracey Leinbach, Heidi Pendergast, Sheighlin Martin, Mary and Elizabeth Pendergast and Sean Rose, Zoe Leinbach, Ami Leinbach, and Skylin Pendergast. Lanie will be missed by her cousins, friends. She loved people and knew at least half the town of Weymouth.

Born in Weymouth, Elaine graduated from Weymouth High School and attended Quincy Jr. College. Elaine volunteered with the Weymouth Civil Defense, assisted at events held by the Red Cross, Weymouth Elks, St Albert’s and Sacred Heart Churches. She played softball and played her guitar for years at the churches. Additionally, Elaine spent hours walking Nantasket Beach and photographing storms.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth.
