Carol Tan Wong, 65, passed away on March 2, 2017, after an aggressive battle with stage 4 lung cancer.  She was born October 14, 1951 in Pingtung, Taiwan.  Carol arrived in the United States at the age of 25 after receiving her associate’s degree from Takming University of Science and Technology.  She had her humble beginnings in Boston working as an administrative assistant for an engineering company.  She married Yuen Kwong Wong in 1979 and left the workplace for a few years to raise her two kids: Adrian and Aileen.  After her kids are able to attend elementary school, Carol started a career as a paraprofessional at Montclair and Squantum elementary schools for Quincy Public Schools.   Carol continued to work there for almost 30 years aiding in the development and establishment of strong morals in the lives of countless young students.  She is the beloved wife of Yuen Kwong Wong, devoted mother to son Adrian Wong and his wife Angela Zheng, daughter Aileen Wong, and loving grandmother to Aria Wong.  She is also survived by her mother, four siblings and their families, her colleagues at Quincy Public Schools, and friends.

All are welcome to honor Carol’s life in a memorial service on March 17 from 4pm-7pm at Lydon Chapel at 644 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170.  In addition, everyone is invited to attend her burial on March 18.  Please meet us at Lydon Chapel at 10:00am where the procession with police escort leaves Lydon Chapel at 11:00am for Forest Hill Cemetery at 95 Forest Hills Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
