Irene was my first friend when we moved to Quincy. We lived almost across the street from each other and we were in the same 4th grade class. I had many sleepovers at her house. We had so much fun together during grammar school and Sterling Jr High. I always thought she looked like Hayley Mills! We were baptized together at West Quincy Baptist Church! We chose separate paths in high school but she was my bff for 5 years and I am sad to hear of her passing. My sincere condolences to her sisters, brother, husband and children.

I'm heartbroken! Irene was one of my alltime favorite people. I met her 1000 years ago, thumbing a ride to Dedham. It started a yearslong conversation, rife with laughter,pathos....

I'm saddened to learn of Irene's passing. I enjoyed working with her at NFPA and admired the charity work she did consistently every year. God bless her and her family; she will be missed.

I honestly can’t believe Irene is no longer with us. I am so thankful I spent a few moments with her Christmas Eve. I’m also thankful for all my wonderful memories, I’ll miss you Irene
