Nancy Power Griffin of Hingham, formerly of Quincy, member of renowned Power clan of Mission Hill passed away December 15, 2018. Wife of the late Eugene Griffin and mother of eight. Michael Griffin and his wife Pat of Quincy, Jay Griffin and his wife Joyce of Stoneham, Eugene “Gov” Griffin of Hingham, Tim Griffin and Jen Campbell of Stowe, VT., Jane Griffin and her husband Stan Alexander of Hingham, Jill Griffin of Hingham, Sally Brennan and her husband Tom of Hingham and Polly Griffin of Hingham.
Also survived by eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Sister of the late Frank Power, Barbara Power, Herb Power and Jean Jackson.
Nancy was a graduate of Mission Church High School (1949) and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School of Newbury Street, Boston (1951). Most recently, she was an Executive Secretary to Quincy Chief of Police, retiring in 2002, after more than twenty-five years of dedicated service to the City of Quincy.
Having come from a family of sports coaches and athletes, Nancy possessed a vast knowledge of sports and was an avid fan of all the “home” teams.
Nancy’s happiest moments were spent summering in Nahant and on Nantasket Beach with her beloved family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Memorial Mass on Saturday December 22nd at 11:30am at St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street in Quincy.
