Paul W. Vraibel, 81, of Bourne formerly of Tampa FL and Quincy, died September 1, 2018 at Falmouth Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sally (O’Malley) Vraibel.
Paul was a veteran of the Korean war and served his country with honor in the US Navy before starting his own contracting business, the Paul Vraibel Painting Co., which he ran for more than 40 years before retiring due to illness in 2003.
He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, and coached the Mets Little League team in Quincy during the 1970’s. Paul also had a passion for gardening, planting his own vegetable gardens for many years even after suffering a debilitating stroke, and he loved dog racing –especially the times he spent at the Raynham dog track.
Loving father of Glenn Vraibel and his wife Joyce (MacLean) of Quincy, the late Paula McManus, and Susan Heapes and her husband John of Weymouth. Step father to Susan Allen, Sandra Geloran, Sally Glenn and the late Bobby Allen. Brother of the late Joe Vraibel. Cherished “Grumpy” to 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, he is also survived by his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Honey.
Visiting Hours Sunday September 9 from 6:00-8:00pm at Hamel-Lydon Chapel & Cremation Service, 650 Hancock St, Wollaston, where a wake service will be held at 7:30pm. Additional visitation Monday September 10 from 10:00-11:30am, followed by burial with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne at 1:15pm.
