Susan Martha Teto, 77, of Cambridge passed away peacefully on the morning of September 7th after a long illness.
Susan was a graduate of Braintree High School and the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. She continued her education as a Fullbright Scholar, teaching English to students in France before completing her Masters in Computer Programming and working most of her career as a technical writer.
Susan has resided in Cambridge since the 1960’s where she became very passionate about politics, particularly in the women’s equal rights movement, and was a dedicated champion of the oppressed. She loved to travel and explore new places, people, and cultures. She was very kind, humble, gentle, thoughtful, open-minded, inquisitive, and genuine in her interest in the points of view of others.
Susan was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Gilmartin) Teto and is survived by her loving life partner of 36 years, Paul Juvalles of Cambridge, sisters Betty Lamsa of Leominster and Lesley Liddell of South Yarmouth, 3 nieces, a nephew, a great-niece and 2 great-nephews.
Please join us for a celebration of life on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 12-2pm at the Story Chapel in Cambridge, MA, located near the entrance to Mount Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her name to one of her favorite charities - Planned Parenthood, Amnesty International, or the MGH Fund.
