Olga Nunes Obituary

Olga (Kondrasky) Nunes, born June 9, 1925, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Braintree, at the age of 100.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan and married John Nunes from New Bedford, MA in 1946.

As a devoted military wife, she steadfastly cared for her young family while moving throughout all the states in the country except seven. She was loved and respected by everyone she met and bonded with the other military family members at each tour of duty. John proudly served in the Navy on the USS Massachusetts, and the Destroyer JP Kennedy and later served in the Korean War.

Olga was a proud and nurturing mother to her daughter, Andrea Cosindas (wife of Dennis), and her son, Jon Nunes. As one of the few working mothers at that time, she had several jobs including private secretary to the Vice President of Personnel at Sigma Instruments in Braintree.

She was the youngest of three. She loved and admired her sister Jean and brother Peter. She cherished her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also loved by her nieces and nephews all over the country, and she adored them dearly.

She is survived by her children; her grandchildren, including Amy (wife of Dan) Nash of Rochester, Massachusetts, Darren (husband of Alexandra) Cosindas of Tacoma, Washington, and Amanda Cosindas of Wakefield, Rhode Island; and nine precious great-grandchildren.

Olga’s life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering family devotion, and a deeply spiritual nature that guided her through every chapter of her life. She maintained a positive outlook and a great sense of humor, always offering kindness, encouragement, and warmth to those around her. Her grace, resilience, and enduring optimism will be remembered by all who knew her.

A private family committal service will take place on Monday May 4th at 11:15am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
